Demons - Guster

Demons - Guster

Play-A-Day (Day??)

Lights up on a small park bench with room for two. On the bench sits a man in a trench coat. He has a fully rimmed hat on that is low enough to cover almost all of his face. His hands are clasped together in his lap as if he were deep in thought. The lighting on the stage is dim and there is an ominous feeling to the stage. A small gust of fog then rolls forth causing the man to perk his head slightly in on different though his face is still not visible. Then after a moment he returns his head to its original position. A short while later a middle aged man enters from offstage. He appears by all norms completely normal. As he walks by the man on the bench a red light appears over him and the man on the bench instantly picks his face up and looks coldly at the man who has now frozen. The mans face is cold pale and empty his eyes are red and staring directly as if into the other mans soul. He then stands and moves behind the middle aged man who is nervous and frightened. The man then places his hand on the back of the middle aged mans neck and lifts him off the ground.

Middle aged man
What!? What are you doing?!

Man
You what you were on your way to do.

He then throws him to the ground dead. All lights fade but the red one which slowly fades on its own

Lat Beautiful Girl - Matchbox Twenty

Lat Beautiful Girl - Matchbox Twenty

This will all fall down like everything else that was
This too shall pass and all of the words we said
We cant take back
Now every fool in town wouldve left by now
I cant replace all the wasted days
The memory of your face - cant help thinkin
Maybe if we ever coulda kept it all together
Where would we be
A thousand lost forevers
And the promises you never were giving me
Heres what
Im thinking
It wont be the first - heart that you break
It wont be the last - beautiful girl
The one that you wrecked - wont take you back
If you were the last beautiful girl in the world
Tell me one more time
How youre sorry about the way
This all went down - you needed to find your space
You needed to still be friends
Needed me to
Call you if I ever couldnt keep it all together youd comfort me
Tell me but forever
And the promises I never should have believed in
Heres what Im thinking
It wont be the first - heart that you break
It wont be the last - beautiful girl
The one that you wrecked - wont take you back
If you were the last beautiful girl in the world
Its over now - and Ive gone without
Cuz youre everybody elses girl
It seems to me - youll always be
Everyone elses girl
Everyone elses girl
This will all fall down
Like everything in the world
This too must end
And all the words we said
We cant take back
It wont be the first - heart that you break
It wont be the last - beautiful girl
The one that you wrecked - wont take you back
If you were the last...It wont be the first - heart that you break
It wont be the last - beautiful girl
The one that you wrecked - wont take you back
If you were the last beautiful girl in the world
The last beautiful girl in the world
You are the last beautiful girl in the world
Beautiful girl

Play-A-Day (Day ??)

Lights up on the entire stage. In the center of the stage is a park bench where two men sit. They are silently chatting amongst themselves. After a few moments series of women begin to walk onstage. All of these women are what would be considered by societies standards as ugly or unattractive. These women begin to walk by the bench at which the men are sitting at. These men then become more interested in the women around then but each one they see they make repulsing faces at. Then an obscenely tall and rugged looking woman walks by the two men who as the woman passes burst out laughing.

Man 1

[Still laughing] Oh my god! did you just see her!

Man 2

[Also laughing] She was friggin huge!

Man 1

Oh check this one out.

Man 1 points to an approaching woman who has a gigantic mole on her chin obvious to all

Man 2

[As woman passes] hey moley moley moley!

The two men the burst out laughing. The woman then turns around and walks over to the bench where the two men both gulp and look scared. The woman the touches the back of the bench and walks away.

Man 1

What?

Man 2

What was tha..

The bench then disappears offstage along with the men. The woman all then remove their faces and behind them are stunning beautiful women. Lights fade

Empty Walls - Serj Tankian

Empty Walls - Serj Tankian

Your empty walls,
Your empty walls,
Pretentious adventures,
Dismissive apprehension,
Don't waste your time,
On coffins today,
When we decline,
From the confines of our mind,
Don't waste your time,
On coffins today...
Don't you see their bodies burning?
Desolate and full of yearning,
Dying of anticipation,
Choking from intoxication,
Don't you see their bodies burning?
Desolate and full of yearning,
Dying of anticipation,
Choking from intoxication,
I want you to be left behind those empty walls,
Told you to see from behind those empty walls...
Those empty walls,
When we decline,
From the confines of our mind,
Don't waste your time,
On coffins today...
Don't you see their bodies burning?
Desolate and full of yearning,
Dying of anticipation,
Choking from intoxication,
Don't you see their bodies burning?
Desolate and full of yearning,
Dying of anticipation,
Choking from intoxication,
I want you to be left behind those empty walls,
Told you to see from behind those empty walls,
Want you to be left behind those empty walls,
I told you to see from behind those empty walls,
From behind those empty walls,
From behind those empty walls,
The walls!
From behind those empty walls...
I loved you yesterday,
(From behind those empty walls...)
Before you killed my family,
(From behind those empty walls, the walls...)
Don't you see their bodies burning?
Desolate and full of yearning,
Dying of anticipation,
Choking from intoxication,
Don't you see their bodies burning,
Desolate and full of yearning,
(I want you...)
Dying of anticipation,
Choking from intoxication,
(To be left behind those empty...)
I want you to be left behind those empty walls,
Told you to see from behind those empty walls,
(Desolate and full of yearning, Dying of anticipation, Choking from intoxication...)
Want you to be left behind those empty walls,
(Don't you see their bodies burning?
Desolate and full of yearning,
Dying of anticipation, Choking from intoxication...)
I told you to see from behind those empty walls,
(Fuck your empty walls, fuck your empty walls)
From behind those empty walls,
(Fuck your empty walls, fuck your empty walls)
From behind those fucking walls,
(Fuck your empty walls, fuck your empty walls)
From behind those goddamn walls,
Those walls!
Those walls!

Play-A-Day (Day ??)

Before lights up there is a terrifying scream from offstage propelled by men, women, and children alike. Then from offstage as the scream hits its peak there is a bright light that flickers like that of a large flame off in the distance. Lights then come up on the stage though not fully so as to signify the late hour. Near the edge of the stage that has the fire burning offstage. One side of the wall should be lightly illuminated by the offstage light. Then on the other side a young boy comes running towards the wall crying.

Boy
No! Mommy!!! Daddy!!! No!!!

A young man then enters from off stage and grabs the boy and carrys him over his shoulder

Young man
We must go before they catch us too.

They exit offstage and then lights fade

I Miss You - Blink 182

I Miss You - Blink 182

(I miss you, I miss you)

Hello there, the angel from my nightmare

The shadow in the background of the morgue

The unsuspecting victim of darkness in the valley

We can live like Jack and Sally if we want

Where you can always find me

We'll have Halloween on Christmas

And in the night we'll wish this never ends

We'll wish this never ends

(I miss you, I miss you)

(I miss you, I miss you)

Where are you and I'm so sorry

I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight

I need somebody and always

This sick strange darkness

Comes creeping on so haunting every time

And as I stared I counted

Webs from all the spiders

Catching things and eating their insides

Like indecision to call you

and hear your voice of treason

Will you come home and stop this pain tonight

Stop this pain tonight

Don't waste your time on me you're already

The voice inside my head

(I miss you, I miss you)

Don't waste your time on me you're already

The voice inside my head

(I miss you, I miss you)

(I miss you, I miss you)

Play-A-Day (Day ??)

Lights up on a single tombstone. It is blank and unmarked. A young man then enters from offstage dressed in black. He has roses in his hand and walks up to the tombstone and stares down at it. He is motionless at first. he then falls to his kness and his head then rests upon the stone.

Young Man
This isn't right. This isn't right! You should still be here... Right next to me...Our hands...they should be together...It shouldn't be like this. I miss you...You remember our senior prom? or how about that night we sat on the hood of my car wishing upon shooting stars? or the first night we shared together just holding each other in our arms...How can that all be gone...how can you be gone?

Then from offstage a young woman enters. She is wearing a prom dress and her hair is done very beautifully. She shines. The young man stands and walks over to her and they begin to dance to a silent tune. They dance very closely as if this dance had a special meaning to it. A light then comes up on another part of the stage where the hood part of a car can been seen and the two then walk over to is hand in hand and take a seat upon the hood and lay there silent pointing out the stars in the sky. Finally a light appears on another part of the stage where a bed is. The two then walk over to the bed and lay down in it under the covers. They lay there for a few minutes just holding each other when music begins to play. The man falls asleep and the girl then exits offstage. Lights fade from all of the stage. Then one light comes back up with the young man still kneeling against the stone. He gently places the flowers upon the grave. Lights fade

Everything - Micheal Buble

Everything - Micheal Buble

You're a falling star, You're the get away car.
You're the line in the sand when I go too far.
You're the swimming pool, on an August day.
And you're the perfect thing to say.
And you play it coy, but it's kinda cute.
Ah, When you smile at me you know exactly what you do.
Baby don't pretend, that you don't know it's true.
Cause you can see it when I look at you.
And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, You make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.
You're a carousel, you're a wishing well,
And you light me up, when you ring my bell.
You're a mystery, you're from outer space,
You're every minute of my everyday.
And I can't believe, uh that I'm your man,
And I get to kiss you baby just because I can.
Whatever comes our way, ah we'll see it through,
And you know that's what our love can do.
And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, You make me sing
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.
So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times
It's you, it's you, You make me sing.
You're every line, you're every word, you're everything.
You're every song, and I sing along.
'Cause you're my everything.
Yeah, yeah
So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La
So, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La

Play-A-Day (Day ??)

Lights up on a dim stage. Lights are up but only enough to make visible a young man sitting against the back wall of the stage. He is sitting with his laptop in his lap. He is staring intently at it but is typing nothing. Just staring. Then after a few more moments he looks up and smiles. Then in a seperate part of the stage lights come up, this time fully, on a person looking very similar to the young man only a bit younger. In his hand is a cell phone and he is pacing back and forth between one extreme of the stage and the middle. On the other side of a stage and girl is doing the same thing. Their reactions should be similar to eachothers as they are talking to each other. At the highest peak of positive emotion lights fade away from these two leaving just the dim light on the young man with the laptop who through this all has been typing vigurously finally stops typing. Lights then a little bit later come up on the same two sitting together at a small bench on another part of the stage. They are ingaged in a deep conversation and the man in the back begins typing heatedly again. This scene then ends with the lights fading on them. The man in the back finished typing as this scene too ends. Lights then come up again on a different part of the stage and the younger man is standing alone talking on his cell phone. The girl then walks by throws him a nasty look and while walking past makes sure to hit him with her shoulder. Lights fade as does the typing once more. Lights then come to a different part of the stage and the girl is sitting alone at a table when the younger man approaches. He sits down and tries to reason with the girl but she throws some of her food at him and walks off lights and typing fade. Lights return for one final time to a once more seperate part of the stage where the boy is sitting alone reading a book. The girl then enters from offstage and slowly makes her way to the boy. At first there is extreme hesitance on both sides but the boy then places the book down and they begin to reconcile. Lights fade from the two. All that remains is the young man who is typing still. Then from offstage an older version of the girl enters and walks across the stage and looks at the young man and they both catch each others eyes and smile and she waves to him and he stops typing to wave back. She exits offstage. He continues to look at where she exited. Lights fade totally.

Wake Up - Rage Against the Machine

Wake Up - Rage Against the Machine

Come on!
Uggh!
Come on, although ya try to discredit
Ya still never edit
The needle, I'll thread it
Radically poetic
Standin' with the fury that they had in '66
And like E-Double I'm mad
Still knee-deep in the system's shit
Hoover, he was a body remover
I'll give ya a dose
But it'll never come close
To the rage built up inside of me
Fist in the air, in the land of hypocrisy
Movements come and movements go
Leaders speak, movements cease
When their heads are flown'
Cause all these punks
Got bullets in their heads
Departments of police, the judges, the feds
Networks at work, keepin' people calm
You know they went after King
When he spoke out on Vietnam
He turned the power to the have-nots
And then came the shotYeah!
Yeah, back in this...Wit' poetry, my mind I flex
Flip like Wilson, vocals never lackin' dat finesse
Whadda I got to, whadda I got to do to wake ya up
To shake ya up, to break the structure up'
Cause blood still flows in the gutter
I'm like takin' photos
Mad boy kicks open the shutter
Set the groove
Then stick and move like I was Cassius
Rep the stutter step
Then bomb a left upon the fascists
Yea, the several federal men
Who pulled schemes on the dream
And put it to an end
Ya better beware
Of retribution with mind war
20/20 visions and murals with metaphors
Networks at work, keepin' people calm
Ya know they murdered X
And tried to blame it on Islam
He turned the power to the have-nots
And then came the shot
Uggh!
What was the price on his head?
What was the price on his head!
I think I heard a shot
I think I heard a shot
I think I heard a shot
I think I heard a shot
I think I heard a shot
I think I heard, I think I heard a shot'
He may be a real contender for this position should he
abandon his supposed obediance to white liberal doctrine
of non-violence...and embrace black nationalism
''Through counter-intelligence it should be possible to
pinpoint potential trouble-makers...
And neutralize them,
neutralize them, neutralize them
'Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!
Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!
How long? Not long, cause what you reap is what you sow

Play-A-Day (Day ??)

Lights up on a common froom where there are many random people just strolling about minding their own business. After a few minutes of poeple walking around (interaction can take place if it is wished) their is a noise heard over an unseen intercom.

Voice
Good afternoon good people of Singleton. It is now time for the streets to be cleared and everyone to report to their daily group mind sessions. Streets should remain clear until tomorrow morning when you are called into your early sessions. Have a wonderful night everyone.

The voice then ends with an intercom click. The people then compliently without care begin to dispurse into the corners of the stage and then exits offstage. The entire stage is then clear but lights remain up until a few moments later a young boy about 9 or 10 rushes hurridly onstage. He looks around frantically with a peice of paper in his hand. From the other side of the stage two armed men in full body armour appear they are talking amongst themselves when one looks up and see the boy.

Armed man 1
[Raising his firearm at him] You there. Stop. Why havn't you reported to your night session?

The boy is terrified and tries to explain

Boy
The group I was in was too large so they sent me to this one [Holding out the paper] But I can't seem to find it.

Armed Man 2
[Taking the note] I can't read this. [To the other man] Looks like we have a stray here.

Boy
No no I swear I'm just lost.

Armed Man 1
Yeah right.

The two men begin to approach the boy to apprehend him but the boy panics and begins to run offstage. The two men then raise their firearms and fire at the boy. The boy drops within a step of offstage. The two men then nonchalantly walk over the boy and drag his body offstage at the other side of the stage dragging his body the entire length the stage. Everywhere the boy hsa been dragged there is blood. Making a line across the stage. Lights fade. Lights come back up after a few moment of emptiness. The exact same scene as at the beginning is repeated only the blood remains on the floor. The intercom then sounds and the people all exit offstage in the same manner as before. The stage is then empty for a few moments. A middle aged man then enters from offstage and walks to the line of blood then falls to his knees sobbing. After a few moments he stands and steps over the red line looking forward he yells.

Man
Brothers! Come forth. Brothers hear my plea. Wake up! Let us no longer be silent to this machine of chaos and power. We shall no longer be silent as our blood is spilled in the dark of night!

A large group of people then enter from offstage with bats and a large variety of melee weapons forming a rather formitable mob.

My friends my family. Look here at this blood [Pointing to the ground at the line of blood] This is the blood of an innocent spilled the last night. We can no longer let this happen! Tonight we shall end this tyranny! Together come with me. Cross this line of blood and we shall march forth. Our rage shall be felt! Let us rage! Rage against the machine! This power of evil! Come with me brothers.

The crowd lets out a roar and they then all (but one) cross the blood red line. The lead man then notices the one who hasn't crossed and steps forward towards him.

Brother why have you not crossed the line?

The man then pulls out a handgun and shoots the man. As the man falls the man with the gun steps closer and empties the clip into him.

Man with gun.
There is your revolution. Now I will give you one chance to drop your arms and return to your sessions lest you wish the night watch to take you in.

The group at first slowly drops there arms then the rest follow quickly.

Good. Now disperse!

The group follows the mans orders and all quietly defeated exit offstage. The man follows shortly there after. All lights fade but one that is on the dead man. Lights fade

God Put A Smile On Your Face - Coldplay

Where do we go, nobody knows
I've gotta say I'm on my way down
God give me style and give me grace
God put a smile upon my face
Where do we go to draw the line
I've gotta say, I wasted all your time, oh honey honey
Where do I go to fall from grace
God put a smile upon your face, yeah
Now when you work it out I'm worse than you
Yeah when you work it out, I want it too
Now when you work out where to draw the line
Your guess is as good as mine...
Where do we go, nobody knows
Don't ever say you're on your way down, when..
God gave you style and gave you grace
And put a smile upon your face, oh yeah
Now when you work it out I'm worse than you
Yeah when you work it out, I want it too
Now when you work out where to draw the line
Your guess is as good as mine...
It's as good as mine
As good as mine...
Where do we go, nobody knows
Don't ever say you're on your way down, when..
God gave you style and gave you grace
And put a smile upon your face

Play-A-Day (Day ??)

Lights up on half of the stage in an art studio. There is only one person in the center stage can be either male or female. With this person center stage is a blank face of clay. All of the rest of the head is clearly defined but the expression on the face is non existant. The person then begins to slowly craft the expression on this persons face.

Person
Don't worry it won't be long before we see you smiling again.

As the person begins to craft the face lights come up on the other side of that stage. On this side of the stage there is a teenage girls bedroom in the girls room a girl is sitting in her bed crying trying to pray. She is clinging her pillow tightly looking a picture on her nightstand. She starts at the near worst of her sadness but as the clay face progresses so does the girls mood. Then the person, whose crafting the face, hand slips and places a small but deep cut in the face. On the other side of the stage the girl as she was beginning to cheer up hears her phone next to her ring and she picks it up and after a moment she erupts back into her crying worse than ever. Then she walks offstage balling her eyes out and after a few moments returns onstage with a knife in hand. She walks over to her bed crying and begins to contemplate what to do. On the other side of the stage the person crafting the face frantically is working to fix the error he made in the face as the girl holds the knife to her wrist the person finally finishes the last of the face and now it is smiling and glowing. On the other side of the stage the girl removes the blade from her wrist and takes the picture on her night stand of a boy and drives the knife through it and then throws it to the ground. She then quietly sits on her bed looking at the picture. Finally as the lights begin to fade a small smile crawls across the girls face.

Person
Told you I'd help you smile

Green Eyes - Coldplay

Green Eyes - Coldplay

Honey you are a rock

Upon which I stand

And I come here to talk

I hope you understand

That green eyes

Yeah the spotlight shines upon you

And how could anybody deny you

I came here with a load

And it feels so much lighter

Now I met you

And honey you should know

That I could never go on without you

Green eyes

Honey you are the sea

Upon which I float

And I came here to talk

I think you should know

That green eyes

Youre the one that I wanted to find

And anyone who tried to deny you

Must be out of their mind

Because I came here with a load

And it feels so much lighter

Since I met you

And honey you should know

That I could never go on without you

Green eyes

Green eyes

Ooh ooh ooh ooh

Ooh ooh ooh ooh

Ooh ooh ooh ooh

Honey you are a rock

Upon which I stand

Play-A-Day (Day??)

Lights up on an totally empty stage. On the back wall of the stage however there are two eyes painted. They are both green and staring at the center of the stage where one light pierces the dark. A young girl who is weeping enters from offstage and gets down upon her knees and looking straight into the eyes.

Girl

I'm sorry I keep coming back to you. It's just...I'm not sure what else to do or who else to turn to. It happened again. He did it again. After he promised it wouldn't happen anymore. He promised [Weeping] What am I suppose to do now? How can I face anyone again? I'm sure they'll all know about this, he'll tell them I know he will. Damn it! How am I so stupid?!

[pause]

yes I am. You told me before this would happen and I, as you can tell, didn't listen.

[Pause]

Why? why...because he's so...so...wonderful...at least when I'm with him...Why is he like that? Why can't he just be happy with me? He knows I would do anything for him. Why? Why?....Why?

[Pause]

hehe[Laughs a little] thanks. That actually helps.
